Four-star cornerback recruit Tae Walden Jr. has committed to the Oregon Ducks, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. Walden chose the Ducks over the LSU Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, and the Auburn Tigers.
Standing at 6-foot-3, 165 pounds, Walden drew serious interest from the Bulldogs prior to announcing his Oregon commitment. Walden was one of the top remaining available cornerbacks from the class of 2027. The rising star would have been an excellent fit at UGA if he committed to Georgia. Walden took an official visit to Auburn (May 29), LSU (June 5), Georgia (June 12), Ole Miss (June 16), and Oregon (June 19). His trip to Eugene appears to have led to his Oregon commitment.
Walden is one of the top athletes from his class and has elite speed and size. He is ranked as the No. 4 athlete and the No. 56 player from the class of 2027, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Walden has been excellent during his time at Collierville High School as well, and he is the No. 3 player out of Tennessee.
Walden is a talented player who could become a future star in the Ducks' secondary. Georgia has landed some of the top talent in the 2027 class despite missing out on Walden, as four-star offensive tackle Kennedee Jackson recently shut down his recruitment after announcing his commitment to UGA.
