The 2025 NFL Draft is a great place to address needs at various areas and levels of a team's roster. But if a team doesn't find what they're looking for in the draft, the veteran trade market is another source of support as club's head into the new season.
The Los Angeles Rams have had a lot of success when they've dipped into the veteran trade pool during the Les Snead-Sean McVay era. While the team has shied away from this strategy in recent years, there is an opportunity to do it again with Matthew Stafford getting older and the rest of the young core getting closer to earning long-term extensions.
Pro Football Network's Sterling Xie went through veteran players on every team who could be traded away ahead of the 2025 season and found four that could fit well with the Rams. Some would fill immediate needs on the team, while others would be upgrades at other positions.
Here are the four players Xie named as potential trade fits for the Rams:
Pitts has been in a funk since his sophomore season and would certainly benefit from a change of scenery. The Rams need tight end help and Pitts has experience with Rams quarterbacks coach Dave Rangone during their time together in Atlanta.
Chandler is intriguing because he would serve a dual purpose in LA: He'd be a better RB2 than Blake Corum and has proven he can be a workhorse when called upon, which makes him a potential insurance play for any issues with Kyren Williams. It helps, too, that Chandler has played in a McVay offense under Kevin O'Connell.
Another running back — interesting. White proved to be a quality committee running back with solid pass-catching ability. If the Rams want to take more loads off of Williams, White would be a quality addition.
Bourne would provide the Rams with another veteran presence in the locker room who can help in the intermediate areas of the field. He'd be a quality WR3 behind Tutu Atwell and also has experience in a McVay-style offense during his time with the San Francisco 49ers.

Here are the four players Xie named as potential trade fits for the Rams:
Falcons TE Kyle Pitts
Pitts has been in a funk since his sophomore season and would certainly benefit from a change of scenery. The Rams need tight end help and Pitts has experience with Rams quarterbacks coach Dave Rangone during their time together in Atlanta.
"Pitts is playing out the fifth-year option on his rookie deal after averaging a career-low 35.4 receiving yards per game," Xie wrote. "Atlanta already has an impending mega-contract extension looming for Drake London, and Pitts played under 40 snaps per game for the first time in his career with a new coaching staff."
Vikings RB Ty Chandler
Chandler is intriguing because he would serve a dual purpose in LA: He'd be a better RB2 than Blake Corum and has proven he can be a workhorse when called upon, which makes him a potential insurance play for any issues with Kyren Williams. It helps, too, that Chandler has played in a McVay offense under Kevin O'Connell.
"He won’t start anywhere with his track record (164 carries in three seasons), but other branches of the Shanahan-McVay tree would likely have interest," Xie wrote. "The Rams could use a better RB2 after Kyren Williams led all RBs by playing 81% of his team’s snaps in 2024."
Buccaneers RB Rachaad White
Another running back — interesting. White proved to be a quality committee running back with solid pass-catching ability. If the Rams want to take more loads off of Williams, White would be a quality addition.
"White is in the last year of his rookie contract and seems unlikely to stick around with Irving due for a large role in 2025," Xie wrote. "While he would still have value on passing downs, Tampa Bay might be better served cashing in on White now and getting draft picks in return."
Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne
Bourne would provide the Rams with another veteran presence in the locker room who can help in the intermediate areas of the field. He'd be a quality WR3 behind Tutu Atwell and also has experience in a McVay-style offense during his time with the San Francisco 49ers.
