The 'Voice of the Auburn Tigers' is set to join an elite class of the state's all-time best broadcasters.
Auburn Athletics announced Wednesday that Andy Burcham, the radio voice for Auburn football, men's basketball, and baseball for the Auburn Sports Network, will join the Alabama Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame this year as part of their 80th anniversary celebration.
Burcham has been a mainstay with the Auburn Sports Network for nearly 40 years. He assumed the role as the main play-by-play voice for Auburn football, men's basketball, and baseball for the Auburn Sports Network in 2019, following the passing of Rod Bramblett. Before that, he was the play-by-play voice for Auburn women's basketball, a chair he held for 31 years. He joined the Auburn football broadcast team in 1990, serving in a variety of roles, and was Bramblett's broadcast partner for Auburn baseball from 1995 to 2019.
Burcham now joins Bramblett, his former broadcast partner and best friend, in the Alabama Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame. Bramblett was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023, and it took just three years for Burcham to join him. Other notable broadcasters in the Alabama Broadcasters Hall of Fame include former ABC 33/40 anchor Dave Baird, radio station owner Lee Perryman, and former WSFA anchor Bob Howell.
