'Ready to fight': Texas-Michigan basketball stare each other down before Elite Eight game

Texas women’s basketball point guard Rori Harmon said Sunday that if Michigan wants to use the misplaced placard on the bracket as fuel, “it’s valid.”

Well, the Wolverines appeared to do just that Monday night. Before Elite Eight warmups, the Wolverines gathered in the tunnel and stared down the Longhorns as they left the locker room for shoot around.

“Dang Michigan… look like they are ready to fight,” a commenter said.

The back-and-forth between the two teams started after Texas won its Sweet 16 game Saturday against Kentucky. Multiple seniors participated in the moving the ‘Texas’ name tag further down the bracket and instead of placing it parallel to Michigan, they placed it as the “regional finals”—the team going to the Final Four.

“We didn’t recognize it until we left,” Harmon said.

“We were so focused on putting it on straight,” senior Sarah Graves said.
