Conor McGregor was in vintage trash talk form during his face-to-face interview with Max Holloway.
McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) makes his long-awaited comeback after five years away when he runs things back with Holloway (27-9 MMA, 23-9 UFC) in the UFC 329 main event on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (Paramount+).
Ahead of their rematch, Former UFC champions McGregor and Holloway were interviewed by Joe Rogan, and McGregor wasted no time. Rogan asked McGregor if Holloway will be a one-off fight, but "The Notorious" ignored that question and went off on Holloway for calling himself the best boxer in the UFC.
"The best boxer? You said the best boxer? We're going to see, we're going to see now," McGregor said (h/t UFC on Paramount+). "No. 1 pound-for-pound featherweight? After I beat you at featherweight, we're going to see now."
McGregor defeated Holloway by unanimous decision in their first fight which took place at featherweight in 2013. They fight again, but this time in a welterweight bout.
"You're not going to lay a glove on me, and even if you do lay a glove on me, I'm going to laugh in your face," McGregor added. "It's another world here against me, and it's another world at this weight. I'm going to come out of this bout unscathed and in all glory."
McGregor told Rogan to excuse Holloway's rudeness for interrupting by saying, "Max is my child," as the pair continued to go back-and-forth.
"We talk about ancestors, we talk about warriors, I'm the Hawaiian warrior brother," Holloway said. "I'm going to touch your face over, and over, and over, and over again brother. I already know this. Welcome to the 'Mystic Max' era brother."
