Southend United midfielder Noor Husin has left the National League club to join fifth-tier newcomers Worthing.
Former Crystal Palace and Reading prospect Husin, 29, scored eight goals in 150 appearances after joining The Shrimpers from Dartford in January 2022.
He helped them reach the promotion final in 2024-25 before losing to Oldham, but only played six games this season before suffering a season-ending knee injury last September.
"I've always thought he was an excellent player and someone I would love in my team," Rebels manager Adam Hinshelwood told the Worthing website.
Husin is his first signing since the club won the National League South title in April.
"It's a really big signing for the club. He is a leader on and off the pitch. He was arguably the best player in last season's play-off final, so that bit of experience will be invaluable to us," Hinshelwood added.
Southend, who lost their play-off quarter-final at Scunthorpe United after finishing sixth this season, released a documentary about Husin's recovery in February.
The former Afghanistan international required multiple operations but said he expected to return between August and September 2026.
"Noor's dedication and professionalism in dealing with a significant injury are a testament to his character," said Southend director of football Oliver Gage.
United are currently seeking a new head coach after sacking Kevin Maher and his coaching staff two days after winning the FA Trophy earlier this month.
