The Indiana Fever entered Thursday night's game against the Phoenix Mercury without star Caitlin Clark, but they left town with a 3-point win. Amid the Fever's second-half comeback, there was no shortage of significant plays down the stretch and throughout the fourth quarter, but one play certainly stood out in the highlight reel. With 4:36 remaining in the fourth quarter and the Fever down by seven, forward Makayla Timpson didn't just block Kahleah Copper's layup attempt; she pinned it on the backboard.

The block itself was exceptional, and Timpson's teammate, guard Sophie Cunningham, loved it, taking to social media after the game to sound off about the play. Cunningham called it "filthy" and added that she's never seen this happen in the WNBA before.

I’ve never seen this happen in the W ever. Just filthy. https://t.co/lPrbQ1ssOu

Several others on social media chimed in, doubling down on Cunningham's comment about the block. Timpson's block was also key in the Fever's fourth-quarter rally, as it led to a Kelsey Mitchell three-pointer on the other end, which sparked an 8-0 run that gave Indiana the lead with just over three minutes remaining.

Timpson wrapped up her 15 minutes with five rebounds, one block and one assist while posting a team-best +9 in the victory.
