Gill shuts down the retirement talk​

The India captain's answer was short and unambiguous, offering no indication that any decision has been communicated within the dressing room since the reports emerged last week. The response leaves the situation exactly where it was. The BCCI has already denied that the Lord's match would be Rohit's last, yet nobody within Indian cricket has publicly confirmed what his role will be beyond this tour.

Rohit's innings only complicated matters further. He struck 17 fours and five sixes, and his second-wicket stand of 113 with Virat Kohli briefly put a chase of 388 within reach before Sam Curran took three wickets in the closing overs.

Silence is now the biggest problem​
