Joe Pyfer achieved his breakthrough moment in the UFC Fight Night 271 when he took down former champion Israel Adesanya.

Pyfer (16-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) handed Adesanya (24-6 MMA, 13-6 UFC) hi fourth consecutive loss with a second-round TKO victory in the middleweight headliner at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, and now must be considered a contender in the weight class.

Check below for the top X (formerly Twitter) reactions to Pyfer beating Adesanya at UFC Fight Night 271.

Good, competitive first round between Adesanya and Pyfer. Izzy scored more volume with one sequence finishing with a knee. Pyfer, generally, doing the harder pure punching.

10-9 Adesanya in R1

Something of a close round, but felt Adesanya landed the more effective offence

Man Izzy looked hungry too and good overall. Pyfer just had a great gameplan, showed guts and heart and didn’t give up on chasing the finish!
