3 teams in running for Darnell Nurse trade with Oilers originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Darnell Nurse continues to wait for his ticket out of town.
He requested a trade, and the Edmonton Oilers seem willing to grant it to the veteran defenseman.
The only question, really, is which team Nurse will end up with.
The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta reported Monday that at least three teams are still in the running.
The San Jose Sharks, he reports, have "re-engaged" on their talks for Nurse.
The others still interested, according to Pagnotta, are the Philadelphia Flyers and the Anaheim Ducks.
The implication of the report is that the Flyers have already been approved by Nurse, but that the Ducks and Sharks would still need approval.
As I mentioned on DFO Live earlier this hour, some talk the Oilers & Sharks recently re-engaged in Nurse trade discussions. Ducks & Flyers still in talks. SJ, like Ana, would need his blessing.

MORE: What the Gavin McKenna pick means for the Maple Leafs
Nurse isn't necessarily a bad player, but his salary cap hit (more than $9 million) is too high for the level he plays at now.
The Oilers would like to move at least a portion of that salary. They'd probably have to retain (up to 50%) to get another team to take him.
Two teams could end up happy if the Oilers get half of Nurse's salary gone, and if a new team pays him half his salary to use him.
A deal hasn't come yet, but things seem to be narrowing down.
