The New York Jets wrapped their 2026 NFL Draft and made headlines doing so.

With three first-round picks, the Jets ended up turning heads. Things still need to play out on the field, but there is plenty to reflect on after the draft.

Here are Jets Wire's three takeaways from the 2026 draft:

Offense looks better on paper​

The Jets started their 2026 draft with pass rusher David Bailey. With the additions of the team's other first-round picks, tight end Kenyon Sadiq and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., the team's offense looks much better... on paper. That's combining those additions with quarterback Geno Smith as well.

Mougey is aggressive​

Between trading back into the first round and moving up in the fourth round for quarterback Cade Klubnik, general manager Darren Mougey proved he is an aggressive GM. It remains to be seen how his decisions work out on the field.

Waiting till 2027​

Speaking of Klubnik, he will not stop the Jets from drafting a quarterback at next year's draft. Nor will Smith. Most figured this was the plan for the Jets heading into the draft and that proved correct.
