The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Auburn Tigers in the regular season finale Saturday night, 96-84.
The Tide were red hot on the offensive end of the floor against the Tigers, shooting 52% from the field. Star guards Labaron Philon Jr. and Aden Holloway both recorded 21 points in the victory, as Alabama will end the 2025-26 regular season campaign with an overall record of 23-8 (13-5 SEC) entering the SEC Tournament this upcoming week.
Here are three takeaways from Alabama’s victory over Auburn.
Philon was nothing short of elite against the Tigers. The talented sophomore more than likely played his final game as a member of the Crimson Tide, as Philon is widely regarded as a top pick in this year's NBA draft, and could opt-to turn professional at seasons end.
The superstar guard recorded 21 points and four assists in the win, as Philon will look to stay hot throughout the SEC Tournament next week.
Holloway has been widely regarded as a top guard both in the SEC and throughout college basketball. The former Auburn Tiger recorded 21 points on 6-of-14 shooting, as Holloway has been excellent throughout the entirety of conference play.
The talented playmaker will once again play a crucial role in the Tide’s backcourt throughout the SEC Tournament, as Holloway will look to keep things rolling during the post season.
