The Brooklyn Nets (12-33) came into Tuesday's game at the Phoenix Suns (28-19) on a five-game losing streak hoping to get themselves to a point where they could end their losing streak early on in the road trip. Brooklyn had plenty of chances to make the plays necessary to win this game, but Phoenix was able to come away with some clutch plays in the final moments.

The Nets lost at the Suns on Tuesday 106-102 after coming back from a 12-point deficit to make this game interesting in the fourth quarter that had some tense encounters along the way. Forward Michael Porter Jr. led the way for Brooklyn with 36 points and five rebounds while rookie guard Egor Demin had 15 points and three assists as he stepped up his game late in the final period.

While Brooklyn had a much-better performance on the offensive end of the floor than they've had recently, they still allowed Phoenix to shoot a scorching-hot 57.0% from the field with center Mark Williams scoring 27 points to led the Suns in scoring. Brooklyn's losing streak has been extended to six games so here are three Nets takeaways from Tuesday's loss at the Suns:

Michael Porter Jr. Bounces Back

Porter had been struggling with his offense in the month of January coming into this game at the Suns as he seems to be adapting to opposing teams defending him differently than they did in the beginning of the season. This matchup showed how Porter is working to not just allow the defense to force him to give up the ball, but also switching up how he scores by driving to the basket more in this contest than he did at any point in the first quarter of the campaign.

Egor Demin Has Strong Performance

Despite the fact that Demin is being coached hard by Jordi Fernandez, he is having another strong month, especially due to the fact that he's shooting the lights out from three-point range at 46.8% on 6.4 attempts per game. Demin has had moments where he needs to be more physical on both ends of the floor, but this was a game where his aggressiveness showed itself in the fourth quarter, allowing Brooklyn to make its comeback when the contest became more intense.

Physical Game Throughout

Speaking of the game getting more intense as time went on, there was a point late in the fourth quarter where it seemed that the emotions of the contest boiled over and it led to a scuffle where both teams cleared their benches. Nets veteran Terance Mann and Suns forward Dillon Brooks were just two of the players involved in the exchange and while the situation resulted in just one free-throw for Phoenix, Ziaire Williams appeared to suffer an injury in the process and there is the possibility of fines being handed down from the league office after reviewing the incident in further detail.
