3 former Steelers sitting as free agents who could help the team

We are just a few days away from the start of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp and we will finally get a look at what the new Steelers roster looks like. But for all the new additions, there are still spots on the roster that could use a shot of depth and veteran leadership. Here are three former Steelers sitting out there in free agency who could help the Steelers this season.

Running back Najee Harris​

Harris is back to running full speed after tearing his Achilles in Week Three of last season and should be ready to go at some point before the start of the season. While we love Jaylen Warren and are excited about Rico Dowdle, Harris is an instant upgrade over Kaleb Johnson if he's healthy and a fan favorite.

Offensive tackle Calvin Anderson​

With Broderick Jones' health still a concern, we'd love to see some talent to back up Dylan Cook until Max Iheanachor is ready to step into the starting lineup and Calvin Anderson is a nice veteran option.

Safety Jabrill Peppers​

Peppers isn't a starter at this point in his career but we have serious concerns about the Steelers depth at safety behind DeShon Elliott and Jaquan Brisker. We'd like to see a guy like Peppers brought in to compete and see if his experience can help this young group.
