  • Position: Running Back
  • Projection: Redshirt/Special Teams
  • Remaining Eligibility: 4-5* years (*if 5 to play 5 goes into effect or he redshirts)
  • Status: Preferred Walk-On

LJ McGhee (b. Sept. 9, 2007) is a walk-on running back from Union High School in Tulsa who plans on majoring in integrative physiology. He is likely to redshirt* this year and I doubt he sees the field much in 2026.

McGhee prepped under head coach Antonio Graham at Tulsa Union, where he rushed for 1,023 yards and four touchdowns during his prep career, which included 617 yards and three scores as a senior when he earned all-state honors. He also hauled in 10 receptions for 132 yards and a score during his career.

McGhee walked on at K-State over recruiting interest from Missouri.

There’s really not much more to tell at this point, sorry. McGhee has no active recruiting profiles with any of the major services and he just popped up on the official roster within the last two weeks, with no warning.

*Keep in mind that starting this season, redshirted players can play in up to nine total games and retain their year of eligibility. If the 5-for-5 rule survives its court challenges, that number goes from nine to “all of them.”
