The 2026 NFL Draft may have just ended, but it's never too early to start preparing for next year's draft. We can guarantee all 32 teams are already working on that next group of prospects for 2027.

For the Atlanta Falcons, it's tough to predict where they'll finish this coming season based on their question marks at quarterback. If neither Michael Penix and Tua Tagovailoa can perform well, there's a good chance the Falcons will be picking in the top 10.

That's where they finish in a new 2027 mock draft from ESPN, which has them taking Texas offensive tackle Trevor Goosby at No. 6 overall.

"At 6-foot-7 and 326 pounds, Goosby is a long-limbed prospect who still has plenty of room on his frame to add mass but has all the traits to be high-level starter at either tackle spot. His above-average length makes it challenging for rushers to bypass him off the edge, as he allowed only one sack last season. He is an upper-tier athlete with plenty of lower-body quickness to gain depth on his pass sets and make blocks outside of his island."

You can make a case for a QB pick here - especially if they finish that poorly in 2026. That said, tackle is going to be a high-priority need no matter how well they do this coming season.

As ESPN mentioned, right tackle Jawaan Tayor is only signed to a one-year deal, and assuming that Jake Matthews is mortal they'll eventually have to find a potential successor at left tackle, as well.

Goosby is coming off a great 2025 season, posting an 83.9 overall grade from PFF, which ranked 12th out of over 600 qualifying tackles. He earned strong marks in pass blocking (79.1) and run blocking, as well (82.8).

Assuming Taylor doesn't fall apart next season, the best path forward for the Falcons is probably to re-sign him to a long-term deal, then focus on finding their next potential franchise left tackle like Goosby.

Most of Goosby's college snaps have come at left tackle, but he has experience at right tackle, too - giving whoever drafts him multiple options.
