2026 NFL Draft: Cleveland Browns do the expected, trade out of No. 6 pick

Cleveland Browns general manager has developed a reputation for making a trade on the first night of the NFL Draft and Thursday was no different.

Just one selection away from picking with the No. 6 overall selection, the Browns swung a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs with the Brown sending the No. 6 pick in exchange for Kansas City’s first-round selection, No. 9 overall, and the 74th overall selection and the No. 141 overall selection.

The Browns now have the following selections:

  • R1 No. 9
  • R1 No. 24
  • R2 No. 39
  • R3 No. 70
  • R3 No. 74
  • R4 No. 107
  • R5 No. 141
  • R5 No. 148
  • R5 No. 149 (from the Cincinnati Bengals)
  • R6 No. 206 (from the Chicago Bears)
  • R7 No. 248 (from the Seattle Seahawks)

The first five selections were:

  • QB Fernando Mendoza to the Las Vegas Raiders
  • DE David Bailey to the New York Jets
  • RB Jeremiyah Love to the Arizona Cardinals
  • WR Carnell Tate to the Tennessee Titans
  • LB Arvell Reese to the New York Giants
