Haven't you ever been around a person whose personality is so bad you don't care how good they are at their job, you just want them gone? That's what Ayton is. He brings down the whole team's performance because everyone hates him, then he sulks and doesn't give a crap about giving effort, which only makes the others hate him more.

It's a doom cycle, and it is pretty clear to everyone at this point except you I guess that he isn't getting out of it. That's why he just got banished to Washington, and likely he will be out of the league next year.

I'd be shocked if Ayton were out of the league in a year.

It's more I look at what a player can do first.

Here's a fun Ayton quote....

Ayton alluded to modeling his craft after not current names dominating the modern NBA, but Hall of Famers in Kevin Garnett and Hakeem Olajuwon for their intensity and footwork, respectively.

“I’m the best competitor in this draft,” Ayton said. “I won’t say I’m the best player, I won’t say that, but I would say on the competitive level I am the best competitor. I don’t think there’s anyone like me.”

Probably true. Some team will likely keep taking a chance on him because of his size and athletic talent, at least until such time as an injury or other physical issue makes him less desirable from that standpoint and you're just left with his crappy/lazy attitude.

Still, at 40 percent, Ayton is one of the better centers in the NBA.

You mean the 40% of his potential that he's currently at? Possibly. But he's probably headed towards half that if/when he ever starts to slow down physically.

Then again you can argue that he barely tries when he does play, so he's not likely to ever incur a serious injury unless it's a freak occurrence.

I still remember those two great seasons he had with the Suns.

Maybe it's only me, but I choose to remember both the good and the bad. I'm a bit sentimental towards the good.

It appears the Wolves are really pushing to get Lebron. If they do, they could be scary good.

Well. That’s true. He got busted for taking a masking substance.

I've always assumed it was for weed, his physique didn't change. The league was still busting guys for weed until 3 or 4 years ago.

Also, he peaked the finals season, probably because he had Chris Paul riding his ass all year.

This is no defense of Ayton...

Ayton doesn't seem motivated enough cheat in order to gain a competitive edge. This guy can't even get a mattress shipped to his place, he can't make it to a game because the roads have some snow.

I just cannot picture that lazy fool bothering with some elaborate doping scheme.

Ayton is like Superman on weed. There's one time he saves Metropolis and everyone cheers. Then there's the next five times he lets Metropolis get destroyed and everyone wonders why he is just standing there watching it happen.

And then he gets a tattoo bragging about the one time he saved Metropolis.

The penalty for weed at the time was significantly less than the suspension he got. He got busted for using a substance that would mask the results of a drug test. He might have been dumb enough to be worried about getting busted for weed and made worse by covering it up.

The synthetic weed (spice) carries a harsher penalty than actual weed. I could see Ayton smoking that and being concerned about peeing dirty so he used the masking agent.

He didn't do himself any favors proclaiming his innocence and getting the players association on his side to quietly slink away and let it go. They were going to fight for him but then that whole story just vanished,

I absolutely think he's dumb enough.

The Celtics, Pistons, and Rockets discussed a three-team trade that would’ve sent Alperen Sengun to Boston, Kevin Durant to Detroit, and Jaylen Brown to Houston, per
@BrettSiegelNBA

“There were talks about a Kevin Durant trade involving Jaylen Brown and Alperen Sengun… Kevin Durant would’ve gone to the Pistons… The Celtics were gonna get Alperen Sengun and then Jaylen Brown would’ve gone to the Rockets… Ultimately Houston did not want that type of package.”

What were the pistons supposed to give to whom?
