I'm surprised they didn't take the (alleged) Jaylen Brown offer.

I'd think they could then flip Brown for more than they got for Giannis and without the leverage Giannis had with his expiring deal.

The Bucks also create a trade exception which is valuable.

The Jaquez trade.

Heat gave up quite a bit but obviously putting Giannis together with Adebayo, Wiggins, Powell etc is intriguing and they get some Portis help.
No real 5 but they can get around that with bigs like Bam and Giannis

I assume Giannis wanted to go to Miami much more than Boston and Milwaukee accommodated him.

And I'm glad it worked out that way. I eternally hate the Celtics because they are one of the handful of franchises the NBA always seems to be tilting the odds in favor of keeping at the top of the heap because they're an historic "face" of the league.

Hmm... I can't say I agree. Some franchises are stupid, some are not. McD patting himself on the back for tricking the Celtics into taking Tatum of Josh Jackson comes to mind.

The Lakers have a LOT of bizzare, lopsided transactions, or MVP players just falling into their laps, to correct a long run of complete incompetence, but the Celtics... just don't see it.

Their current run is built on taking advantage of idiotic, impatient, Nets and Sixers front offices... hardly the teams that would cater to Boston.

Apparently Herro grew up in Milwaukee so I can see that helping increase his value to the Bucks. Gives them a home town favorite as they look to rebuild. The Bucks also got more draft capital from Miami.

It's still frustrating to see from the outside as the Suns really did make the worst haul for a star trade since the pandemic and also didn't need to do so for numerous reasons.

HA HA! Yesterday on my ride home from work there was vintage Gambo on the radio. Gambo was saying Giannis would never go to the Heat because Pat Riley was too cheap. Gambo said Riley would give up three bench guys and a couple second rounders. Gambo doubled down and said the Heat fans hated him, but respected he was right, that Riley was too cheap. Heat were not getting Giannis according to Gambo. LOL!

Free agent guard Ayo Dosunmu intends to sign a five-year, $112 million contract to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves, with a player option in the fifth season, sources tell ESPN. Timberwolves made it a major priority to lock in Dosunmu after his tremendous postseason.

Riley has tried to add a star ever since the Heatles broke up. The Heat are always mentioned as a destination for any star because of that. Of course it didn't help them but it was a matter of a time before they finally brought someone in, sort of like they last acquired Jimmy Butler.

Gambo is a lot like us, he has his biases and for some reason he hates Riley so he doesn't give him credit even when it's due.

The morning show was saying they wouldn't be surprised if Riley tried to lure LBJ back to Miami. I'd be all for it. :D
