Mogadore football's first four games in 2026 are the same as a year ago. After that, things change dramatically. Of the Wildcats' final five opponents, only one (Pymatuning Valley) is a repeat of a year ago.
In Week 5, Mogadore replaces one Akron opponent with another, facing North this season after topping Ellet the last two years. The next week, the Wildcats reunite with Linsly, a private school in Wheeling, W.V. The Wildcats played the Cadets three straight seasons from 2016 through 2018, winning two of their three matchups.
The Wildcats end the season against two other new opponents: Marlington (Week 9) and Brush (Week 10). The Wildcats last faced the Arcs in 2021, winning 23-9. They haven't played the Dukes in at least half a century.
Mogadore's schedule includes bigger schools like Brush (Division II) and Marlington (IV). It also includes traditional small-school powers like Canton Central Catholic and Dalton, both of which Mogadore has a long history against. The Wildcats have played the Crusaders in four of the last five seasons, including a classic postseason encounter. Meanwhile, they've fallen to the Bulldogs in each of the last three years.
Mogadore, which hasn't had a losing season since 1997, faces three postseason teams from a year ago: Dalton, Malvern and Pymatuning Valley. Five of the Wildcats' other six opponents won three games or fewer a year ago, although opponents like Canton Central Catholic and Marlington played particularly grueling schedules.
