Are the greens slowing down on the second day of the 2026 Masters Tournament?
According to Andrew Novak, indeed they are.

“I three-putted four times early because I wasn’t prepared at all for how slow the greens were,” said Novak, who shot 76 Friday. “Just on the putting green and stuff they were still rolling fast. I didn't realize how much slower they were going to be this morning.”
When asked if he believed Augusta National watered the surfaces, Novak said, “Yeah.” In his first Masters appearance, the 31-year-old shot 75-76, and during Friday’s walk up No. 18, reality sunk in.
“I was coming up 18, and thought this could be the last time I ever get to play here,” Novak said.
The Wofford College product said the highlight of his first Masters was Friday at No. 14, where his 50-footer slammed the back of the cup, popped into the air, froze on the ledge, and then fell for birdie. When the putt dropped, Novak rubbed his eyes with his right hand and chuckled.
“I've never seen that before. Seen to hit the back of the hole and pop up and go in. Never seen it hit the hole, pop up, sit on the lip, and then go in. Never seen that before,” he said.
