As you know, Thomas Smith is away on vacation.
To keep this feature going, I’m going to post simply the WPA numbers and plays of the game, and a poll so you can vote on your choice for Player of the Game. Thomas will update the Rizzo Award standings when he returns.

Reminder: Heroes and Goats are determined by WPA scores and are in no way subjective.
THREE HEROES:
- Superhero: Javier Assad (.205). 5.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 3 K
- Hero: Dansby Swanson (.145). 3-4, 2B, HR
- Sidekick: Nico Hoerner (.138). 2-4, HR
All five Cubs pitchers in this game had positive WPA.
THREE GOATS:
- Billy Goat: Michael Busch (-.182). o-4
- Goat: Pedro Ramirez (-.085). 0-4
- Kid: Tyrone Taylor (-.066). 0-3
Busch did provide a solid defensive play.
WPA Play of the Game: Nico Hoerner’s RBI single in the sixth that gave the Cubs the lead (.163).
Dodgers Play of the Game: Kyle Tucker’s homer in the second (.112).
Up next: The Cubs go for the sweep behind Shōta Imanaga. Eric Lauer is his Dodgers opponent.
Time to sweep a series.
