Holy crap

does Kupp run a 4.18??
I never realized he was so fast!!
I've got a lot of respect for K9 the "Stat Master" but on occasion he seems to gloss over the verbiage. He does hit more often than he misses. I bet he's got a stat for his own posts.....Again, Ouchie made me say it. LOL

That’s not the point. The point is that your example of the target volume needed for a credible deep threat is actually pretty large.

Michael Wilson didn’t get 60 targets his rookie season. Cleveland’s second-most targeted wideout had 44 targets last year.

Also, the fastest combine ever was 4.21 by Xavier Worthy. Despite that timed speed, worthy hasn’t don’t much to add dimension to the KC aerial attack.

@oaken1, I've got to give this one to the Stat Master...
Might I suggest in the future the use of "about" "around" "in the neighborhood of" "more or less"...I think you get the just of it. A specific number better be backed up by MIT or NASA...LOL

As ever the entire point went miles over your head brother.

You do understand the two WR's in the scenario were entirely fictitious...right??
Of course you do..total idiot isn't in your wheelhouse...
But then you step up and inject an actual WR into the fictitious scenario...not as the "good hands" guy... but as the "blazing speed" guy... demonstrating your total lack of comprehension in the matter...
I guess I could have said the fictitious speed guy ran a 2.2, perhaps making the obvious exaggeration a bit more blatant as exaggeration would have made it take root??
You never fail to amaze me with your total inability to grasp concepts strictly as concepts...for most people the added hyperbole is enough.
I exaggerated. I made up the WR's... I made up their speeds, and I made up their catch percentages...
And I made up their number of targets strictly to demonstrate that a guy used to stretch the defense gets fewer targets than a possession type WR..
However... if dude only got two targets...he wouldn't be that effective at stretching the defense....so I exaggerated with a higher number.
The sad part is...your lack of "getting it" in regards to overall concepts is so complete..so convincing,...it's dragging in otherwise cognitively functional board members...the crap is contagious!!

A better question is would you swap Puka Nacua for Ja’Marr Chase?

Well no, it's not a better question. Because Ja'Marr Chase is far more than just speed.

So far, Thomas hasn't shown much except speed.

He was no slow poke, either.

We’re not dumb. We both know why he was the example you used, lol.

Well I know why, it's because speed never won him anything and he was all routes and hands. But you seem to have missed that point.

Speed is a big part of Chase’s game & it’s clear him & Puka are in the same tier of WR rankings. Such a weird comparison from you in the first place. Imagine me asking who’s better between Ja’Marr Chase or Jauan Jennings? Weird.

Speed doesn’t help him when it comes to route-running? You’re being serious? Are you the type to apply this to every WR that isn’t prime Tyreek Hill?

Boldin was the ultimate unicorn. He played QB in high school. When FSU’s QBs got injured he moved to QB for 1 game and won the game. I practically jumped through my TV when the Cards drafted him. One of their biggest mistakes ever was letting him go. He wasn’t as good right after the injury, but he bounced back. The Cards never have appreciated on the field leadership. Huge fault!
.
Boldin is my favorite Card of all time but he was no picnic. Graves and Whiz just weren’t equipped to handle an alpha like that.

Speed on it's own has little value.

You and I need to line up. I need to be downhill, with a nuclear blast behind me to make it to 5 minutes, though.
I just need a walker capable of leaping tall obstacles in a single bound.

smoking weed watching a lalapalooza doc with the mrs - they're showing this one particular year - and this one tiny stage cast off to the side designed to host acts that weren't well known

there was a very non-famous lady playing on the "nobody" stage - she was giving quite the show in her homemade costume and on her beat up keyboard - the crowd didn't know how to react

3 years later that same performer came back to headline lalapalooza on the main stage - in that short time span she went from a nobody to one of the biggest stars on the planet - her name was lady gaga - and i think she ran a 4.6 in college

Another miss by Monti, should have recruited her with that speed.

Her poker face made it seem like she was running faster.

Because Monti can't produce a more interesting roster.
I think Love is interesting. McBride is a very exciting player (Keim pick I know). Michael Wilson is exciting, I love how he plays the game. MHJ could still figure it out. I like what the Cardinals have at IOL and PJJ is a favorite or mine.

The defense is the part that's not exciting for sure. Nolen can be real exciting and I think there are some useful parts on the DL. They really need for some of the young guys to take a leap.

I dont think Ive ever seen Chopper this overall down on this franchise. Sucks to see.
Really?? Seems to me he is always down on the organization. Certainly a founding member of the darksiders club.
I think keeping Monti, and then Rallis too...just left too much rollover negativity from last year to bundle in with FA negativity and Draft negativity...so there isn't a new GM or DC to gleen some possibilities from.

Normally I would agree. I just think they are all mostly capped with what the Cardinals are putting out at QB (as of right now). That is why I don't think it is generating much discussion. Pretty much every WR/TE convo is "if the QB play is good" which stifles it. Similar convo at RB. People are already tempering their own expectations about the number 3 pick because of the oline and QB. Instead of convo about how Love will flourish behind the oline personnel on the roster OR how he is going to light boxes to run against because of our QB and passing game weapons, the convo shifts to acceptable production because of the offensive environment.

That's what we have needed the past few years..
For the youth to show development.
Finding a late round gem would've been nice too

I have a tough time with the organization's acceptance of losing and incompetence. Retaining Monti was a part in that. Same with Rallis. The blaming of fans who don't show for games when they are constantly putting a losing product on the field is irritating. Pushing back on the org report cards because they highlight the owner/franchises issues lacks accountability and a willingness to compete. Consistently rolling over cap space when the roster is clearly flawed is wild. Add getting rid of proven NFL players to replace them with completely unproven players or not using the cap space saved to add quality players and it's tough to see the path to being a competitive NFL team.

The franchise is 46-86 since 2018. Only 3 or those 8 seasons have they produced more than 5 wins. Only 1 season over .500. I understood people when they were frustrated I wasn't more excited after the Cardinals playoff loss to the Rams. I don't understand when people think I am being overly critical now.
