Virgil must have excellent playing speed because the Texas Tech announcers always referred to Virgil as having elite speed. Maybe he just didn’t train properly for the 40?
The experts also said they were surprised at his speed. Thought he was faster. So maybe you’re onto something. Would be a pleasant surprise.

What's the point of drafting this guy? He's not a speed wide receiver (4.57 40 time) nor one of those Shanahan/McVay motion, high degree of separation type guys.
Same time as puka ran. So MLF got his puka now.
Edit:
Sorry I'm late to the party. I had to take a last minute trip to Nashville to get my guitar.

I used to listen to the draft on the radio back in the day and have watched every year since ESPN started showing it. This is the first one I haven't watched since then. But it brought back memories of me and my dad listening to it on the radio.

Lol...
I used to get up at 5am Saturday and Sunday for the draft... think it was a special event for ABC's Wide World of Sports back then.

It's not all about speed. Players like John Jefferson, formerly out of ASU, had a solid NFL career by simply catching the ball.

I do think there is such a thing as game speed and some players have it.

You’re full of dramatics today did you think that with Fitz or Anquan Boldin or Jerry rice who all have slower timed 40s
Yes actually.

Apparently there are a great number of people who can't judge a players speed by video. I pretty much can. Virgil is certainly not fast I don't care how many announcers are screaming he is.

Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.63 at the Indy Combine and Anquan Boldin ran a 4.71 :)
Virgil's strength is that he is a possession receiver with very good hands.
I would ask who was the last speedy WR we’ve had who actually elevated numbers in the win column, Roy?

I want three things from a wide receiver and sub 4.5 speed isn’t one of them.

I heard Steve Smith comment on WR speed (and Steve was actually fast):

Wide Receiver speed doesn't actually matter that much. If they are sharp in and out of their breaks and run good routes, they can get separation.

Cooper Kupp ran a 4.62 along with a lot of other mentioned receivers like Larry, Anquan, and the all time great Jerry Rice.

Now Cornerback is a different story, because if that guy is faster, you are going to get beat, there is nothing you can do about it.
