That is such a strange weird concept to me it went from Players not allowed a dime to making more than the NFL pays are we making a career college athlete now seems like the Ncaa should put some kinda of cap on these salaries in future may be a idea that needs a look at

I don't really understand this pick due to some of the rumors about his character. Hopefully he grows up. I do like this Yahoo draft review on taking Carson, https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nfl/article/nfl-draft-2026-round-2-3-grades-picks-232627960.html

1. (65) Arizona Cardinals: Carson Beck, QB, Miami

Grade: D+

I don't understand the upside here. Beck could be a good backup, but the Cardinals already have Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew. It's a dart throw, but I’m not sure about this one.
Can we please stop acting like we didn’t all make mistakes as men early in our lives?

We have all been there growing up becoming men.

As two others have pointed out, I too have an irrational dislike for Beck, and I too think he has a punchable face.

That being said, he's taller than 5'8", so he's got that, which is nice. I hope he comes in and lights it up, and if not, take another QB in the draft next year.

I was trying to think of a QB comparison for Beck and I am going old school. His stature in the pocket, throwing motion, and deep ball remind me quite a bit of Neil Lomax, former St. Louis and 1 year Phoenix Cardinals.

The name that sticks in my head with Beck is Chris Weinke. Older, high profile, successful college QB, tall with physical tools, capable of starting early, not going to be a franchise QB.

Jesus, what a jackass type of pick.

Offers literally nothing & is known for throwing his teammates under the bus. He is worse than Kyler in that regard (who, I don’t remember him ever doing that, just the coach).

Kyler was such a douche all the time.

I’ve never seen a QB with less charisma.

Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur on what stands out about QB Carson Beck:

"He's a big, solid dude. ... He looks the part. Natural thrower, he's tough. ... He's been through those big games, but he's been through some adversity, too."
I don’t hate that he’s seen adversity.

What on earth are you talking about?

People banging on young dudes is so tiring. Not everyone is A type personality.

K1 is an obvious introvert not everyone fits in a little box.

We already have people talking about Beck because he has flare and tattoos.

Careful What You Wish For

Should be tattooed on everyone’s forehead that wanted to jettison K1 without a single plan to replace him.

Personally I’m ok with this pick. Beck has had the most success of any college QB even Mendoza. He’s looked good with multiple teams yet of course has some blemishes.

The Cards have to start somewhere so here we are.

Gonna be fun.
I don’t care if Chewbacca is our quarterback as long as Kyler is gone

Agreed it’s not like he has 3 duis or been busted selling drugs…and he can’t help the way he looks he has gotten the kind of tail all of us can only dream of….at least we won’t have to watch brissett 17 games this year

I don’t. He is a prick. Not a great trait for a backup especially if he feels he is competing with a rookie QB next year.
Good thing about guys like Beck is he had college humble him. He's already been through adversity and run out of town.
He is an idiot.

A class dolt if I have ever seen one.
Bidwill is. Too soon to say Monti is. Cleaning up Keims mess and dealing with Bidwill is no easy task those 1st couple of years.. I think this has been a solid offseason so far.

I like this draft.

A punchable 6’5” face compared to a 5’10 pouty punchable face. He could be Marty Feldman for all I care if he can play

I just don’t understand everyone that says we have a ton of holes in the roster, we really don’t.

We don’t need RB, WR, TE, CB, or safety. We could use a RT, dlineman, an mlb, a pass rusher, and a qb.

That’s really the only holes I see. We have a bunch of young guys that need to get experience to see if they sink or swim.

Pass rushers and RT are already gone by this pick.

I don’t really have a problem taking a flyer on this guy, because he does seem to have all the physical skills you are looking for.
It's a 3 win team. They have mid talent at most positions. They need up grade almost everywhere and to build better depth. TE is the only position, before this draft, that didn't need some love. I'd add RB to that list now since they did give it some Love. Throwing away 3rd round pick doesn't do that.
