So trading a sixth round draft choice for Fields is a good thing...and if so, for which team? This insignificant transaction shouldn't be a measuring stick for any GM.
My general argument is that getting something is better than getting nothing.

Obviously getting something instead of nothing is a good thing. Also only having to pay $7 mil in guarantees is better than having to pay $10 million or $8.5 million.

Monti paying Kyler $35 million to play for the Vikes and getting nothing out of it except $7.5 million in additional dead money in 2026 is loser stuff.

Was it "loser stuff" when the Broncos cut Russell Wilson in 2024 and moved to Bo Nix? They ate $85MM in dead cap money, but made a decision to make the move at QB. Short term pain in the hopes of long term gain. Who knows how this will turn out for the Cardinals. There's lots of reasons to criticize Monti, but moving on from Kyler isn't one of them.

We’re talking about two different things. Monti not getting anything for Kyler is loser stuff. You should deal with that.

Monti not understanding that Kyler was not the guy until after three seasons is also loser stuff.

Going 15-36 under Monti’s leadership is also loser stuff.

Maybe Monti and MLF find a QB to believe in in this draft. That would be great.

The only QB Monti has identified is Clayton Tune, who didn’t last three seasons with the organization.

Is that winning?

Easy to see why Peyton wouldn't pick AZ

AJ Brown prefers to be traded over staying with the Eagles, per
@AdamSchefter
.

All signs are now pointing to Brown’s exit from Philadelphia via trade post-June 1st for cap-saving purposes.

Trying to push himself to the Pats. Also, great timing after the Waddle trade. Helps establish compensation.

If the Eagles were to trade A.J. Brown prior to June 1st, Philadelphia would take on a dead cap charge north of $40 million in 2026. By waiting until after June 1st, the dead money incurred would drop below $20 million for 2026.

Gross. The fact the government gets 20 mil off someone elses hard work. Utterly gross.

The Cleveland Browns are proposing a rule change that would allow NFL teams to trade draft picks five years into the future instead of three.

Any changes need to be approved by at least 24 of the 32 teams.

Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr. of ESPN report that NFL owners are expected to vote later this month on a plan that would entail Davis both selling seven percent of the team to Silver Lake co-chief Egon Durban and Michael Meldman and giving Durban the option to buy a majority interest in the franchise, if/when Davis decides to sell.

The equity sale comes at a valuation of $10 billion. Whether a price for Davis’s controlling interest has been set is not mentioned in the report.

Pittsburgh Public Schools will operate remotely from April 22–24 as the city prepares to host the 2026 NFL Draft. With road closures, heightened security, parking restrictions, and heavy traffic expected, the city believes remote learning is the best option during that time.

Wise.

I lucked into the perfect timing to take 3 days off for a minor elbow procedure. Actually, the doc picked the date: April 22nd. Fan damn tastic!
