The New York Jets added defensive end Tyler Baron in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft, drafting him at No. 176.
Baron, a fifth-year senior from the University of Miami, was projected to be a fifth-rounder by NFL.com and the Jets got him with the last pick of the round.
He played his first four seasons at Tennessee, becoming a full-time starter by 2023. That year, he recorded 6 sacks before transferring to Miami for his fifth year. In 2024, he was an honorable mention All-ACC while recording 5.5 sacks over 9 starts and tying for a team-lead 11 TFLs.
He has the size of an NFL edge defender at 6'5", 258 lbs, and his length and athleticism show up in his film.
