The draft lottery on May 12 will decide whether the Philadelphia 76ers will keep their top 6 protected pick, but in the meantime, it doesn't hurt to look at some potential options should they keep the pick.
The 2025 NBA draft is expected to be a deep one as the young prospects entering the draft have a lot of talent so if the Sixers don't land the No. 1 pick, they are still expected to get a good player if it can land in the top 6. If the pick lands outside the top 6, it goes to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
A mock draft put together by The Athletic has the Sixers landing the No. 6 pick in their lottery simulation. With that selection, they have Philadelphia taking Duke guard Kon Knueppel:
Knueppel averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while shooting 40.6% from deep as a freshman for the Blue Devils. While he might not be the No. 1 guy fans would like from Duke, he has been a real NBA prospect for quite some time and the Sixers could use a guy who can light it up from deep on their roster.

They certainly could use a bigger wing, but unless Bailey falls, that might be a stretch at this slot. There could be a consideration to get a big to backup Joel Embiid, but my read is that Daryl Morey would see that as a bad way to maximize the current core of players that he worked hard to assemble last fall.
So we’ll go with Knueppel, a bigger shooter who is competitive and tough. He has a case as the best shooter in the class along with Johnson, and his overall game was more impactful this season. They’re right next to each other on my personal board. His presence would help the Sixers with different lineup constructions, although some executives worry about what exactly Knueppel’s upside is because of some perceived athletic limitations.
