Stay off the ibuprofen I learned the hard way, and my kidneys are paying for it
Oof, I feel you. My kidneys normally check out well, but I've been on an ibuprofen kick recently because my leg is acting up (broke my pelvis and had a hip replacement at 35 a few years ago, for anyone who wasn't around to read that fiasco), and I can feel them on the struggle bus. Not to mention it not helping a gastritis flare up. I'm just gonna deal with the pain and skip pain meds for a few weeks...

I avoid Tylenol/Acetaminophen for the liver, too. As soon as the NBA and NHL playoffs are over, I think I'm going on a full cleanse for about two months until my birthday in mid-August... outside of maybe 4th of July.

Nope, I can’t take any NSAIDs for the rest of my life I had a major car wreck as a young officer. The inflammation in my back is terrible at times. So I was taking Advil/ibuprofen sometimes weeks at a time 3 times a day. Was the only thing that worked.
I have to say I am worried about pain in the future. Part of my 100% P&T through the VA is arthritis in my knees, hips, and shoulders. I have two fractured vertebrae, one that the VA caught and one that was found in a CT scan I paid for. Oh and my neck is all kinds of screwed up from a lifting accident I had in Iraq.

I'm pretty certain the pain is going to kick up a bitch in the next few decades. When I was doing my exit physical with a doc at Fort Irwin, the doc was asking about pain in different areas and he said my constant level of pain wasn't normal. I thought it just getting older and he essentially told me that I've lived with a level of pain that civilians would probably be on some kind of pain management medications and that is veterans just learn to suck it up

It is nice to get $55k tax free every year for the rest of my life though, I won't complain about that. I've also cut around 30 lbs in the past two months and I'm probably more content than I've ever been.
