The 2025 Cardinals are a much more competent team than the 2018 squad. In 2018, the offense was virtually non-existent under Steve Wilks. In 2025, the team actually has an identity and star power (Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr.), but they lack the defensive depth to close out games.

I can't make any arguments for Gannon but the argument against Wilks was he was directly asked when interviewed would he stay in a 3-4 or to the 4-3 he coached at his last stop and he said he would stay with the 3-4. They then drafted and signed FA's to fit that defense, and then Wilks changed to a 4-3.

I think this years team has more talent but we're also in a division with 3 teams with double digit wins so our schedule this year is tougher.

I can't defend either of them. Wilks earned his firing, I think Gannon has earned a firing too
