2013 Quarterbacks: Lewin Career Forecast!

My favorite stat-based article of the draft season. Lewin LOVED Russell Wilson last year (they called him "The Asterisk").

Lewin loves these guys more than the scouts seem to.

Only time will tell with some of these guys. While everyone jumps on the hype wagon, personally, I still think Russell Wilson has alot to prove. I'm not ready to crown these one year wonders (Kapernick included) as future hall of famers just yet. I think these guys could fall back down to earth next year just as easy. Luck and RGIII (injury aside) i feel alot more comfortable about as future stars for years to come. This years crop of college QB's doesn't have anyone I feel that way about.

I agree, if Kapernick and Wilson are still getting under center in 2015 then I will consider them legit stars in the NFL. Show me 4-5 years of consistent and improving play, then I will give props. There is a litany of QBs you can name off who have lit it up for a year or two who have fallen by the wayside.

Nice article on Tyler Wilson there. I think he or EJ Manuel are worth a shot. In that order. Bray if they wait till the 3rd Rd.

Glennon is an enigma. He'll likely go early in the 2nd on hope alone.

I don't know if you were referring to rookies only, but the following guys were run of the mill guys that have had an anamoly run of 1-3 years then fell of the ledge.

It's not a comparison, though. For example, Aaron Brooks never once had a season with a completion percentage greater than 59.1%

Matt Cassel had one season when he threw for more than 3500 yards, and one season where he completed more than 60% of his passes.

Chad Pennington was always productive, he just couldn't stay healthy.

In Kaepernick and Wilson, you have two guys who were among the league leaders at their position almost immediately. Not like a guy who outperformed expectations as a backup QB.

The real irony of Burqe's post is that Kaepernick and Wilson need to prove themselves more, but Luck and RG3 apparently are already established players.

I think that Wilson and Kaepernick need to continue to (1) stay healthy and (2) perform at this level, but the comparison of guys being this productive, this quickly, seems to be more Aaron Rodgers than Jake Delhomme.

The reason I feel that way is because I believe the success that Wilson & Kapernick had was more to do with the team being better, not the QB. Both SF/SEA had top notch defenses, OL and running games. I think what Luck and RGIII did was more based on true individual talent as a QB & player.
