So I figure we should have a thread going so we can talk about the draft as it goes on live, for those of us who can't/don't want to go into the chat.

Draft starts in 22 minutes.

Damn it, I was hoping the Clips would screw up and take Thabeet!

Welp, from here on out it gets pretty interesting.

I think curry goes here with the third pick

That would be awful, they should take Harden or Rubio. If you want Curry, trade down, Im sure a TON of teams are calling OKC to try to move up to get Rubio.

I think he's closer to 6'8''

EDIT: Congrats James. Pencil me in as a bandwagon Thunder fan- Westbrook, Harden, Durant, Green is a freakin' awesome young foursome.

No its not. He's the best SG in the draft, OKC needs a SG. They couldve maybe tried to go down 2 picks but that would be the absolute most.

If Jeff Pendergraph somehow ends up in OKC, pencil me in as an official Thunder fan.

EDIT: Next pick will be Rubio to Sacramento.

DOUBLE EDIT: Hahaha wow Kings blow it.

A pick that high is usually a franchise player. Harden is not. It's too high. It might be true that they thought they couldn't trade down and get him. It's possible they tried. Harden is not a #3 in a strong draft.

Well this isn't a strong draft, its this draft, so how he would go in a draft with Michael Jordan or something is entirely irrelevant.

Harden isn't a franchise player, he's an AWESOME #2 or 3 guy on a team, and OKC already has 3 really talented young players. It was an excellent pick if they couldnt move down 1 or 2 slots or were worried that if they did Harden would be gone.

EDIT: The T'Wolves need a pure PG in the worst way, they better take Rubio. They could've used Harden as well, or a defensive Center like Thabeet, itll be interesting to see what they do with another pick.

Also, Stuart Scott is a freakin moron. The Twovles gave up two proven players? They gave up two players who are proven to be mediocre!

So what does Mini do here? Rubio & Hill?

Rubio and a SG most likely. Hill would be a terrible choice, they already have 2 PFs that don't fit together who cant play the 5, Hill cant play the 5 either.

They may take Curry if they think he's a 2. They could also take DeRozen.

Who's their other PF? Their frontcourt is Jefferson & Love right?

Yep and their both PFs. Love isn't a Center in the NBA. That front court is a mess. Ideally theyd have been able to move Love and the #6 for the 2 so they could get Thabeet. Thabeets defense and shot blocking wouldve complimented Jeffersons rebounding and offense quite nicely. They also have PF Craig Smith on the bench, they really don't need anyone at that position.

EDIT: Flynn is kind of an odd choice. Thats going to be one tiny, quick back court.
