The Denver Broncos were once again in session for training camp on Saturday. The Broncos and their fans celebrated Back Together Weekend, signaling a true ‘welcome back’ to football.

Here are some highlights and notes (as well as a significant stadium update) from Day 2 of camp.

1. Damani Leech gives stadium update to media

The hope is to break ground on a new stadium next year, per Damani Leech. He pointed to the spring.

— Zac Stevens (@ZacStevens) August 1, 2026

Broncos President Damani Leech said it remains “realistic and achievable” to open a new stadium in 2031.

But reemphasized the Broncos “can’t do it alone” as they work toward building a new stadium and neighborhood.

Damani Leech says PSLs are a “pretty likely thing to happen” at a new stadium but no decision has been made.

2. Defense goes through drills

3. Bo Nix humming early

Bo Nix with another highlight early in 11-on-11. Rolling right, off-kilter, in-stride bomb to Pat Bryant for a TD.

Nix turned around and barked in excitement at players/coaches watching on sideline

Take this with a grain of salt, but an objective observation: Bo Nix looks considerably better + more poised + accurate two days into 2026 camp than at this time in 2025 camp https://t.co/p3nHM2O3tA

Jaylen Waddle just beat Pat Surtain II on a quick throw during team period. Bo quickly released the ball with pressure.

5. QB2 battle heats up between Stiddy, Ehlinger

Sam Ehlinger is the second QB up in 7on7s. Jarrett Stidham third.

Interesting.

6. Nix struggles in team period

Very rough second team period for Bo Nix. Pulled back on one throw way short, airmailed a final crosser, didn’t complete a pass.

Good coverage from Alex Singleton + Justin Strnad on an initial throw over middle

7. Stiddy up and down on Day 2

Jarrett Stidham all over the place in second team period, amid what’s become a clear completion for QB2

Has taken two would-be sacks but also aired one out deep to Hakeem Butler, who’s been pretty involved in camp. Butler beat new CB Sam Webb in coverage breakdown

8. Hakeem Butler an early training camp winner

Hakeem Butler having another impressive day at camp. Broncos signed the former UFL star earlier this summer.

Butler led the UFL in receiving yards and yards per catch this spring.

9. Marvin Mims heavily involved in Davis Webb’s offense

Marvin Mims having an excellent start to camp. Catches another deep ball from Jarrett Stidham for a TD after burning past the secondary.

Marvin Mims keeps getting open and keeps making plays.

10. Defense finishes strong, despite offense’s best efforts

#Broncos defense triumphs again in two-minute to close practice. Offense was down two with a little more than a minute to go.

Nix came *this close* to finding Mims for what would have been a TD.

11. Broncos to ‘explore’ bringing in Taysom Hill

Broncos Coach Sean Payton told @cfrelund Cynthia Frelund and me today that the Broncos will explore bringing in free agent tight end Taysom Hill, who played for Payton with the Saints.

The Broncos have a day off on Sunday, but return to the practice field on Monday to resume training camp.
