– Absolutely no reason to make that a close and stressful game. Horrible to let that happen.
– I fear that they will miss Klayton Adams a lot more than expected. Big step back from last season for the offensive line.
– Kyler Murray had diarrhea before the game. Just to give a little perspective.
– Baron Browning played well, but you sure would have wished to see more pass rush from the front line.
– On that major hit by Will Johnson, highly impressive to see him use textbook technique in that situation as a rookie.
– Murray completed 8 of 10 passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns against the blitz, which gives a passer rating of 135.8. Last season he finished the season with a passer rating of 79 on those types of plays.
– Isaiah Adams was a liability. Point blank.
– Very interesting that Benson was in on third downs instead of Demarcado. Petzing’s offense is all about deception and creating confusion for defenses by letting them guess blindly which type of play is coming. To do that you need multifaceted players, and that Petzing (and Gannon) trust Benson to both run, catch and pass protect makes him a great fit. Bodes well.
– Murray’s throw to Harrison in the first quarter went 54 yards in the air. All of last season, his longest completion was in the air for 45 yards.
– 1-0, baby. That’s it. 1-0.
