Column delayed due to the most critical example of terminal man flu in human history.

------------

1 – Finishing is a skill. It is not luck or coincidence. Sure, they have lost five with a combined of nothing-points, but they are still a bad team. Competitive, but bad.

2 - Micah Parsons was double-teamed on 20 out of 32 pass rush snaps. Can anyone explain to me why he was not double-teamed on 32 out of 32?

3 – I would understand the dynamic if Ossenfort wants to buy someone before the trade deadline in a bit of a desperate attempt to save his job. I would not like it, but I get it. I just hope that it would only include swapping draft picks and not giving up any.

4 – Big surprise to me that this was Tre McBride’s first two-touchdown game.

5 – Dalvin Tomlinson is so good.

6 – Hard to bench Brissett after these two games.

7 – It's a problem that none of the runningbacks can pass protect. It clearly limits the offensive options.

8 – Michael Wilson would be a very good #3 WR.

9 – I liked that Gannon got aggressive on the fourth down, late in the game, even though they didn’t get it. I was sure he would punt it away.

10 - Because of Brissett, I was looking at the Jets as a (very unlikely, but still) possibility to buy Murray now. Aaron Glenn knows him well personally. Darren Mougey (their GM) comes from the Broncos where he was the assistant general manager when they bought both Russell Wilsom and Sean Payton. And Woody Johnson is one of those risk-seeking owners that are willing to throw big money after players that can attract their fans.

Because of their current miserable state, I thought there was an actual chance that they would do something crazy like buying Murray in-season. But no, he will not play again until after the trade deadline, and no one is trading for a possibly injured player.

Agree, he should have been doubled on every play

No excuse to leave JB exposed if he is to have any chance to succeed

Same goes if KM was playing

Definitely strange that beyond JC and Benson none of them can block to protect the QB

That's on MO to bring a guy in that can chip and/or protect the QB

been thinking about the parsons doubles

they knew we were running the ball when we didn't have a tight end on top of jonah - mentioned it during the thread- then petzing tried to get cute twice in the 4th quarter but packers didn't fall for it and sent parsons both times

petzing bugs the ish out of me

Actually demarcado is very good at pass blocking as well and it has been noted that it was one of Bensons issues its why he almost always came out on 3rd down

Demercado is a good pass protector (kept Benson on the bench last year), but he hurt himself celebrating a kickoff or something. Sad!

I thought Benson showed some improvement before he got injured this year

Am I wrong?

No but Benson is on IR so he wasn’t available to pass protect last week and neither was Demercado.

Just saying it’s not like the team didn’t have a plan for someone needed to block for the QB; it just didn’t accommodate the top three options being unavailable.

I agree, BCF. Ossenfort promoted a runningback from the practice squad for this game. Why didn’t he choose to add a RB that is good in pass blocking? It’s almost certainly not like that guy would have been significantly worse than D’Ernest Johnson as a pure runner or special teamer.

To be fair, BGT, Parsons singlehandedly humiliated the entire offensive line alternately, so I am not sure Petzing could have called anything that would have worked in those situations.

I thought Paris did a decent job of slowing him down. Then he moved to the other side and dominated Williams.
Yes, I remember at least two times where he flew by Johnson, but then - when Johnson got him a few times - he moved around a bit.
