– I think it is time to draft Jermod McCoy. Top- to mid-first-round pick who has fallen to the fourth round due to injury concern. However, Ian Rapoport made it clear that it is not about his status now, but rather if he is a two contract-player. Well, this is the fourth round. If you get two-three years of elite play, that is an extraordinary value for a fourth-round pick.
– I would give the Giants a call regarding Kayvon Thibodeaux. I suppose it could get done for something like a fifth for them and their sixth back, and I think that would be worth it. Just give it a shot.
– I was very bummed that the Vikings selected Caleb Tiernan with one of the last picks last night. I honestly think he could have been a starter. Now I don’t see any offensive linemen that are better developmental prospects than the ones already on the roster, and certainly not better than Elijah Wilkinson. Doesn’t mean I would not draft one or two, but it would just be a “why not”-pick. Jude Bowry out of Boston College and Travis Burke outside of Memphis have fans in the scouting world.
– Nickelback Keionte Scott is the only one left from my day-two column targets yesterday (other than McCoy), and he would still be an interesting choice. He is older, but again, this is the fourth round. It doesn’t matter how old he is if he is good enough.
– Edge rusher Joshua Josephs has a lot of juice. He is raw, but his upside scream day two-pick.
– In my mock draft I went with DT Zxavian Harris, and he is still on the board. I don’t know what type they could be looking for, though, and while Harris would fill the same role as Andrew Billings and Roy Lopez, players like Kaleb Proctor and Gracen Halton are much more Walter Nolen-ish. Depends on what they are looking for.
– Brian Parker is very interesting for an interior offensive line-role, but they don’t really need that. He has been the RT at Duke for multiple seasons, but his size probably doesn’t allow him to stay out there. A personal favorite.
– I am leaning pretty heavily on my mock draft for this column, so since the sixth round was my favorite haul, I should mention TE Riley Nowakowski and swiss army knife Eli Heidenreich as someone I hope for.
– Dani Dennis-Sutton is among the most obvious Nick Rallis-edge defenders in the entire draft class. I am not particularly high on him, but he fits the scheme very well.
– I would like to scream “EAT IT!” straight into Kyle Shanahan’s face by drafting Trey Lance’s brother, WR Bryce Lance.
