TOPEKA (KSNT) – Kansas State men’s basketball head coach Jerome Tang was less than satisfied with his team’s performance, following tonight’s 91-62 loss to Cincinnati.
“This was embarrassing. These dudes do not deserve to wear this uniform. There will be very few of them in it next year,” Tang said in Wednesday night’s post game press conference.
PJ Haggery was the only cat to score in double figures, with the team’s next-highest scorer being David Castillo with eight points.
The Bearcats’ starting five scored 70 points, compared to just 47 for Kansas State’s starters.
“They’ve got to have some pride man,” Tang said. “It mean’s something to wear a K-State uniform. It means something to put on this purple man… They don’t love this place so they don’t deserve to be here.”
The ‘Cats head coach also acknowledged the student section wearing paper bags over their heads to Wednesday’s game saying, “I’d wear a paper bag too if I was them.”
K-State will travel to the Fertitta Center on Saturday, Feb. 14 to play No. 3 Houston. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
