Indiana sharpshooter Sophie Cunningham took a break from scoring buckets on Saturday as she made an appearance ringside for the ‘UFC 329: Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway 2’ showdown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Cunningham served as a ring girl for the co-main event featuring Paddy Pimblett against Benoit Saint Dennis, while showing off her newly-coined finger point celebration as fans cheered seeing one of their favorite WNBA stars.


As the clip of Cunningham’s appearance went viral, fans watching from home also joined in, sharing their opinions on the Indiana guard’s off-day activities.

Sophie Cunningham Speaks Out On Criticism Amid Alyssa Thomas Saga​

While Caitlin Clark, Cunningham and the Fever are always in the spotlight, the trio’s back-and-forth with the Phoenix Mercury over the last several weeks has drawn more criticism from talking heads and fans than usual.

However, Cunningham is not phased by any of the hate against her. Speaking on Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s ‘Sons and Daughters’ podcast, Cunningham addressed her tough skin attitude, saying:

It can be hard, but at the same time, what an opportunity to be yourself and to inspire people who are just like you. And so, you can look at it as a threat, or you can look at it as an opportunity. I definitely came in here looking for an opportunity, not only off the court but also on the court.

While Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston have been the leading scorers on the team, Cunningham has shown her impact through her leadership and providing the team with a spark whenever needed.

Cunningham and the Fever will take on A’ja Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces on Sunday night.
