Sophie Cunningham may have created the viral sports moment of the year with her iconic finger-pointing meme, and it's now officially made its way to the octagon. Cunningham, who made an appearance at UFC 329 on Saturday in Las Vegas, joined the "Octagon Girls" for the night, who signify what round the fights are in.
Not surprisingly, her appearance ahead of the Indiana Fever's game against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday drew plenty of attention. Following the UFC 329 main event, a bout between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway that ended in just over one minute due to an injury suffered by McGregor, Holloway was among those to grab a quick photo with the Fever guard.
And as you might have guessed, it was her iconic finger-pointing meme that Holloway used as his go-to pose for the photo, which Arash Markazi of The Sporting Tribune caught on camera.
While the main event at UFC 329 disappointed due to the apparent leg/knee injury McGregor suffered just seconds into the fight, the good news is that fans in attendance saw other impressive results. This included Paddy Pimblett winning by submission in the first round against Benoit Saint-Denis in the night's co-main event.
As for McGregor, who was making his return to the octagon for the first time in five years, it seems unlikely that the 37-year-old will be back in the UFC for another fight, barring something surprising happening.
