19-Year-Old Tragically Loses Her Life After Car Accident​

A Student-athlete from the University of Toledo was killed in a car accident in central Ohio on Friday. On May 29, just before 5:30 pm, a three-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 309 in Claridon Township, Marion County. Following the accident, Eva Moran, a freshman pole vaulter on the women’s track and field team, was pronounced dead at Marion General Hospital:

“The University of Toledo community is heartbroken by the loss of Eva Moran,” said Vice President and Director of Athletics Tom Moreland. “Eva was an outstanding student-athlete whose determination, character and positive spirit made an impact on everyone who had the opportunity to know her.

”Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Eva’s parents, Alena and Derrek, and her siblings, Maddox, Jaxton and Kya. We ask that everyone keep Eva’s family and those closest to her in their thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
