Seattle Mariners fans are not impressed with their team’s performances or what is being planned off the field at T Mobile Park.

Thursday saw the Mariners lose 11-0 against the Detroit Tigers in the second game of the series up in the Pacific Northwest.

It has been a seriously underwhelming season for the Mariners following the 2025 season, which took them into the playoffs.

Defeat to the Tigers took Seattle’s record to 56-60 as they continue to fall away from playoff contention.

Wednesday’s game against the Tigers saw the fans come together in Seattle as they celebrated local legend Jimothy the raccoon in a special theme night.

However, one announcement on Thursday has not gone down well with the fans as the team continues to struggle.

Seattle Mariners fans baffled by Julio Rodriguez announcement

On Friday evening at the Alumni Home Run Derby, Mariners star Julio Rodriguez will be playing a DJ set under his stage name DJ Pleno.

This announcement comes amid Seattle’s dreadful form, with the M’s failing to even put a run on the board against the Tigers on Thursday.

With a lot of practice needed to salvage their season, Mariners fans are far from impressed with Rodriguez’s scheduled performance as a musician.

‘I can think of a few things more important for him to worry about,’ replied one frustrated fan.

‘I absolutely hate everything about this,’ added another Mariners fan.

Rodriguez has hit 17 home runs this season for the Mariners, but his fielding came under scrutiny on Thursday after failing to make a routine catch on Thursday against the Tigers.

Frustrations were high, with one fan saying: ‘How about he gets in the cage. Or is he already starting his career after baseball.’

‘I thought this was a joke. This is a joke. Right?’ said one baffled M’s fan.

Over the three-game series against the Tigers, the Mariners conceded 21 runs and scored a mere four.

One fan took a witty approach to the announcement: ‘The only hits he should be worried about are at the plate!’

An angry Mariners supporter simply replied: ‘Booooooooooo’.

With the team struggling to the extent they are currently, this stunt feels like the last thing the Mariners need.
