‘Devin is scared of me’: Rolly Romero says Haney fight will never happen

During an interview with Fight Hub TV, Rolly Romero fielded some questions from his old elementary school, most notably about the chances we ever see him in the ring with Ryan Garcia again, and whether he’ll ever square off with Devin Haney.

“Didn’t he duck me twice? He ducked me after our direct rematch clause and then he ducked me after he fought Barrios. You’re going to tell me this dude wants to fight? He’s just chasing whatever clout he can get right now. Same way he calls out everybody in the world and doesn’t fight anybody. Don’t bring up Ryan Garcia, he’s a clout-chasing fool.”

On the potential for a unification fight with Devin Haney​


“No. We sent him an offer, a great lucrative offer. He decided not to take the fight because Devin Haney Promotions isn’t a real promotion company, as we see he can’t bid in own purse bids because he’s not a real promotion company. On top of that, they’re always fighting for a going out of business sale. But regardless of everything, me and Devin are never going to fight because Devin is scared of me, and I’m not going to waste my time.”
