Which Cardinals belong in the ring of honor? Poll

That must have changed with AW, as much as I like him as a player, he has no chance of HOF

    Looking forward to 2017...best 1 - 4 in baseball?

how is Drury at 2B? I know that's where he came up through the minors, but is he any good there? With a lineup 1.) Segura - ss 2.) Pollock - cf 3.) Goldschmidt - 1b 4.) Lamb - 3b 5.) Drury - 2b 6.) Tomas - rf (hate to say it but what can we do with him. Maybe with Pollock & Peralta back we...

    Looking forward to 2017...best 1 - 4 in baseball?

Ok, so in an attempt to talk about something positive in a season with very little be be proud of, I thought I'd take a look forward to 2017. Is it safe to say that we could have the best 1 - 4 in baseball? 1.) Segura 2.) Pollock 3.) Goldschmidt 4.) Lamb Peralta & Castilllo/Hermann make...

    Ziegler gone to Boston

Zeigler is only under contract for 3 more months. We have no use for him for those three months and no guarantee that we'd be able to re sign him in the off-season. Not to mention that he'll be 38 years old for next year's playoff run.

    The case for Chris Herrmann

My only concern with Herrmann is the small body of work. He's 28 years old and prior to this year he was a sub .200 hitter

Ahmed is batting .285 on the season...

...outside of a 3 for 46 stint from April 17th to May 1st. He's 55/239 (a .230 average) on the season. If you were to back out that 15 game run where we was 3 for 46, he's 52/193 for a .285 average.

    Braden Shipley anyone?

3.09 Era and 1.14 whip. BRING HIM UP
  13. sundevil04

    Braden Shipley anyone?

3.25 ERA through 69 IP this season with a 1.18 WHIP. His AA & AAA numbers compare very favorably to Patrick Corbin's & Archie Bradley's. Is he an ace, no. Can he be a good #4 or #5, yes.

    Braden Shipley anyone?

With Shelby Miller trying to get things right, Rubby De La Rosa on the DL and Robbie Ray not able to go past 5 innings (along with his 4.74 ERA) we have to find someone to fill the 4 & 5 spots after Greinke, Corbin & Bradley. Can anyone give me a good reason why Braden Shipley isn't up...

    Dbacks sign Cuban Slugger Tomas

2019. But why would he, we're paying him $33mil over the next two seasons after he has the opportunity to opt out. I'd have to think that's considerably more than he could get anywhere else.

Could we see Peter O'Brien in Houston?

True. Who would've thought that we'd be talking about a season being over before June in a year where we sign Greinke and Miller?

A look back at the Upton trade after 2 years...

Let's not forget the contract aspect to this trade. If we had Upton for the past three years, in all his .270 batting average & sub par fielding, we would have had to pay him. More importantly, if we wanted to keep Upton for this season and beyond, we would be out $137Mil. Buh bye, Greinke.
