The NBA is weird in how a team is revered until they get to the mountain top and then they're nitpicked until they fail. See Golden State, Boston Denver, and now OKC. The hate is louder towards OkC because they're so young and virtually unstoppable due to their construction. It really is a lot...

Suns acquire Nick Richards from Charlotte for Okogie & three 2nd rd picks

That's similar to what we did early in the season when we handed San Antonio their first loss. We had Royce on him and just pestered him while he was on the perimeter. It was Wemby's first game not going for 20+ also.

That doesn't make sense as he will definitely want a fat paycheck and they wanted a bargain.

Risacher is a bust, pass. The pick is the best part of that deal and not all that good. I'd rather find a different package altogether.

Im surprised the NBA hasn't rolled back their eligibility age to 18. With NIL deals now the incentive to join the league strictly for a payday is gone.

Our 27 is swapped. I don't think we have one where we have complete control with no swaps until 2032. We get the least favorable of Cleveland, Minnesota, and Utah in 2027. Not exactly a hot commodity. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2025/01/why-draft-pick-trade-makes-sense-for-both-jazz-suns.html

We'd need to trade for Carr since he's projected as a mid-1st. A deal involving Grayson gives us his replacement who is younger and cheaper. Include a couple of 2nd rounders and that makes us younger, saves money, and slowly stocks the war chest.

I agree on Payton and Richards to a certain extent. I also believe they benefited from replacing scrubs, especially Payton. When you're replacing guys like Shaquille Harrison, Josh Gray, Mike James, and Tyler Ulis then it won't take much to look good.

Washington being Washington. There's no consensus #1 so expecting that sort of haul is laughable. Even one of those is a steep price but reasonable to start negotiating at.

Is that Toppin, Obi's brother? Might as well pencil him in. We haven't had a lesser brother in a little while.

I knew Morant took a step back but didn't realize how far. He only played in 20 games this year and 59 the previous 2 years. That's 79 out of 246 which is 32%. He averaged just 19 ppg last year, which is crazy since they got rid of Bane and JJJ. Morant isn't competing for shots but he's only...

I think people are forgetting how San Antonio showed up the Thunder during the NBA Cup and proved OKC were mere mortals. That's when OKC's season went from historic to good. I believe the Thunder win, health permitting, but it'll be a great series where experience will give OKC the advantage.

Probably the same as rumored last offseason with Randle, DiVincenzo, and picks. Not exactly enticing. They don't have a lot to offer.

You calling out someone's track record is rich. Glad we won a title with KD.

You said he wasn't leader back then and claimed KD was, which was also a primary reason we had to acquire KD. Now you're rewriting history to bash Book. He may not be an MVP level star but he is an All-Star who deserves more respect than he's received.

Giannis and KD haven't won any in the last 3 years either. Would you say they aren't elite forwards? There's levels and Book isn't on the same level as Shai but he's on the same as Ant.

Ant was held to 5 points in the 2nd half with 2 trips to the FT line where he went 1-2. I like Ant but this is further evidence that stars aren't infallible. Of course I'm sure this will be ignored next time some want to call for Book to be traded and use guys like Ant or Luka to contrast him...

You haven't seen what injuries have done to Ja. Green has helped contribute to more wins than Ja and is a better shooter. Ja is declining really fast.

Can't blame Lee but James Jones signed a number of guys for what ended up being their last year(s) in the league like Damien Lee. Hopefully we improve in that regard.

Ant has 20 points with 2 boards and 2 assists to go with 4 turnovers as Minnesota loses and is now down 2-3 to San Antonio after losing 126-97. The Spurs can send them fishing on Friday.

Yeah the Jazz and Blazers are most likely to improve in the West. I think the Lakers take a step back. The Rockets may falter but they have so many trade pieces I doubt they fall far. The Suns and Warriors are play-in teams that will need some lucky breaks to stay that high. Not exactly an easy...

Peterson has an ideal landing spot in Utah. George is ok but he's not a franchise PG. I believe Peterson will be. A lineup of Peterson, Ace Bailey, Lauri, JJJ, and Kessler is huge 1-5 and a nice mix of offense and defense.

I'd take Ja if he were bought out and would sign for the MLE or less to be a backup. The problem though is he'd almost definitely rock the boat, thinking he's underpaid and deserves a starting role. Ultimately its likely best to steer clear.
