Peterson has an ideal landing spot in Utah. George is ok but he's not a franchise PG. I believe Peterson will be. A lineup of Peterson, Ace Bailey, Lauri, JJJ, and Kessler is huge 1-5 and a nice mix of offense and defense.

I'd be terrified to draft Peterson high.

Lot's of questions about his competitiveness. Dudes that are not particularly competitive tend to be busts, especially with the pressure that comes with being a top pick.

Darryn Peterson’s representation is telling teams at the NBA Combine he views himself as a point guard, per
@ShamsCharania
.

This is notable as it relates to potential fits with the Wizards (Trae Young) and Jazz (Keyonte George).

Okay... there is another huge red flag. If that is a gimmick to avoid DC, then fine, but he is not a point guard.

Tankathon mock draft has forward JT Toppin going to the Suns at 47.

Toppin is a 6’7”, 230 lb forward and will be 21 by the time of the draft. Averaged 22-11-2 with 1.4 STL and 1.7 BLK/game at Texas Tech.

Worth a look for the Suns?
Better than a PG. I'd like to get a player in the 6'9" or higher forward. We need to start sizing up with the OKCs of the world.

This is why he's dropped so low: "On February 17, Toppin suffered a season-ending injury after tearing his ACL in his right knee in a game against Arizona State. At the time of his injury, Toppin led his team with 21.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game."

A few nights earlier he was a wrecking ball against Arizona.

The consensus amongst league personal on what the Wizards would want to trade the number one pick to the Utah Jazz, per
@BrettSiegelNBA
- Number two pick
- Future unprotected first-round pick- Quite possibly Ace. Bailey(https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/2026-nba-draft-big-board-2-0-latest-aj-dybantsa-darryn-peterson-debate-combine-intel)

Washington being Washington. There's no consensus #1 so expecting that sort of haul is laughable. Even one of those is a steep price but reasonable to start negotiating at.

In his latest mock draft, @JeremyWoo has the Phoenix Suns selecting Michigan State G Jeremy Fears Jr. at 47.
My Fears are not unfounded. I agree in principle with BPA but when most of your roster is 6'5" and shorter, at some point you have to go with BBA... Best Big Available.

I agree. The Suns cannot afford to waste any more resources on wings or guards, unless they are going to ship off about a third of the current roster for bigs.

I look at this a bit different.

Although I want a big man as much or more than anyone, always draft BPA. One can always trade to fill a need.

Now if the talent is near equal, then it's okay to draft for need.

No way, not in the 2nd round... and not really at all in the NBA. The draft is about getting the guy you think has the best chance to be an actual NBA player regardless of position.

Using that logic the Nuggets would have passed on Jokic because they'd just drafted Nurkic.

REPORT: The Thunder are fully expected to trade their picks 12, 17, and 37 to try and move into the top 10, per @WindhorstESPN

OKC only has ONE roster spot available and wouldn’t be able to draft all three players.
