Take a chance at a McCarthy or Richardson?

Would the Cardinals take a chance at a trade to get McCarthy or Richardson at the QB position? That allows Cardinals to keep 3rd pick or trade and accumulate picks, but spend that draft capital at filling other needs. Doing so would give us either a starter going forward or a solid young backup for the future. If it doesn't workout, then Cardinal spend next draft addressing the QB issue. Regardless of the route the Cardinals go on Thursday, the team should get better with the high pick or accumulation of picks. I know not everyone will be happy with the actual pick, but the pick is nothing more than a building block for the future.

What draft pick(s) and/or player(s) do you want to offer in trade?

The Colts and the Vikes have invested heavily in those two QBs and will expect premium value to trade them. Vikes might want to keep JJM to see if KM is the real deal for them. KM is looking for his next starter's contract and could be out the door as a FA next season. He insisted that he not be open to being tagged next year.

Vikes already have some bad QB deals to their name. They had Darnold and Jones and allowed both to walk. They might be leery about trading a third QB to watch him succeed elsewhere. They will probably expect a ransom to make a deal.

Richardson is a great athlete but the jury is still out on being a great QB. He did request a trade. He might come cheaper. But is he the QB to run a West Coast style offense (that I assume the Cards are going to use).

A third for either. The Colts likely take it. I’d give the Vikes a third and a second-round pick swap.

A wild take you’d be willing to give up a third rounder for a guy that will be 24 and only had 12 starts in college and has pretty much sucked royally in Indy…. Yet you are down on Simpson. Makes complete sense.

I’d spend a third on Simpson also.

I don’t have firm opinions on any of these prospects because I’m not going to work through 60-70 names for the three that will matter to me after Friday. Not my bag.

Richardson has had some truly special plays in Indy. I’d be happy to forego a shot at the next Elijah Jones to see if he can be something in the McVay/Shanahan offense.

It comes down to cost. The toughest part is trying to figure out what didn't work with each player. What is the harm with ARichardson as your 3rd QB for 2026 if his issue isn't study and dedication?

I think the jury has reached a verdict.

Guess what it was? ;)

He was terrible in college too.

That might be the single stupidest selection I've ever seen. An objectively terrible college player going in the top 5 because he can throw bombs in a training facility with no pads and no defense.

Richardson wasn't worth a third round pick the year he was drafted. I wouldn't take him for a 7th unless the Colts are paying his contract for us.

Richardson would have a $1.1 million cap number if we acquired him. He’s obviously better than Slovis.

He can't throw, he can't even hit screen passes consistently.

He can run, but he fumbles the ball a ton and he injures himself.

You're right, his running ability does make him better than Slovis, I also would not trade a pick for Slovis.

I still don't want him, I don't wanna read the constant "play the objectively terrible QB! He needs reps!"

You’re gonna hear this regardless after the Cards start 1-6.

This is the way. We have no objectively good QBs.
