WT* is wrong with my Samsung J7 phone

Can't seem to get along with GPS. Doesn't matter which app. Always searching for GPS signal. Indoors/outdoors/ anywhere. Then miraculously it will kick in then eventually fade out again. Do I need to trash this phone and chalk it up to hardware problem.

Google Maps/Waze/Where to Go/Uber all are basically useless. I will upgrade ( not to an I Phone ) if that is the remedy. Any ideas?

Might well be a hardware problem on your phone. I bought a J7 for one of my service techs and GPS works fine.

Might well be a hardware problem on your phone. I bought a J7 for one of my service techs and GPS works fine.

Mine has worked fine for 2-3 years. This is a recent, 2 month scenario.

The GPS started acting up on my old HTC before if finally crapped out. It would think I was miles from my current location on the map and couldn't sync to my current location.

Yes. All sorts of weird stuff started happening and we just moved on. It was over 2 years old, which seems to be the "lifespan" of the modern phone in my experience.

Maybe do a factory reset if other things don't work. There are lots of android forums out there that might know what to do.

ironically, my coworkers and I were just talking about phones and it just turned into a trash fest of their old J7 phones.
