Onhub - Google's new router

Review at the link. Perked my interest. Being able to see detailed stats of every device is pretty cool. Also seems very easy to use. I only hard wire my computer itself, everything else is wifi so having only one ethernet wouldnt bother me. I have considered hard wiring my xbox but it would take about 20ft of ethernet to go through the ceiling and I pull 30mbps typically through the wifi anyway.

I'm not sure if this would solve my range issues though. The signal is not as strong on the other side of the house and once I am on my back patio, the wifi is non existent but I do have a block house.

I really appreciate the usb inputs because I have a hard drive packed with music that I can stream around the house.

Solid wifi signal and never needs rebooting like my last couple of routers.

How do you stream it?

At this time I simply put my music into my "onedrive" folder and it syncs to my xbox automatically but nothing else.

My devices just see it when connected to the network. My xbox's see the drive and the media, my Android's can access through my music app or the Asus app.

I have the router located in the corner of my 2000 square foot block house and I get coverage everywhere without problems. I could centralize it, but it wasn't necessary.

Interesting on both points. I didn't know that could be done with music and I have a drive I put music and photos on

I have the same issue with the range on my wifi. It doesn't like the other end of my house where the Xbox is so I sometimes have connectivity issues, which is a real bummer when I'm leading a game of Madden or killing it on COD (which is never, lol)

I even bought a range extender, a fairly expensive one to boot, and that thing was freaking useless.

Let me know if you get this and it solves your issues BRR, I will buy one.

I have had a range extender in my wish list on amazon for like 2 years but have so far avoided the purchase. low signal on madden is ruthless, I ended up getting booted all the time from online games constantly on the last madden until I finally got a docsys 3.0 modem.
