Jerry’s involvement in Vegas is intriguing.

I am a big JC fan, hence the JC in my handle. But Jerry always sort of liked to carry a little of the "mafia don" persona. His dress, the rings, being called Mr. Colangelo. I am sure he had none of the those connections, but Jerry being an owner in Las Vegas, well, it is just interesting.

At an old job I used to have we hired a couple new guys. One rolled up to work in his car as I was getting out of mine. I noticed he had a bumper sticker that said, "WW JC DO." He got out of his car and I was really excited, "Hey! I didn't know you were a Suns fan?" He said, "I'm not. WHy do you think that?" I said, "I saw your license plate, what would Jerry Colangelo do?" He said, "That's Jesus Christ." I thought it was funny, that to me JC meant Jerry Colangelo.

I'm sure the league office has some twisted logic that it's fine to abandon the Northwest because they'll just bring in the Sonics again in a few years.

They're murdering a long time, extremely loyal fan base.

He clearly bought the team with the intent to move it somewhere. What's wild is the league is asking more for an "expansion fee" from any potential ownership group than it cost this cheap bastard to buy the franchise, which almost makes it inevitable that some teams are going to move.

And why is the league letting cities that support their franchises, like Seattle and Portland get screwed over, while they've got a franchise in New Orleans failing AGAIN. I love New Orleans (the city) and the Pelicans have no fan base.

There is a relocation fee to move a franchise. It's not a set price as that's determined after approval. It can be about the same as expansion though isn't usually that high.
