Nice win with our Ace on the mound. The next two games need the bats to come out big time.

I thought Rodriguez only threw one bad pitch, that home run ball. A lot of hits were weak hits against him. No one was hitting high velocity against him. 3-2 game brought in some pucker factor to those final innings.

Torey threw in the Towelie after the Nats scored 4 in the bottom of the 3rd. We will see what happens in the series finale tomorrow.

Tim Tawa had another multi-hit game today.

He was hitting .155/.256/.239 on July 9. 16 days later, he's up to .241/.302/.414.

Glad to see the results coming for a guy who's always been a good soldier for this organization.

The Diamondbacks struck out only twice today. They hit 11 balls north of 95 MPH. Seven of those went for outs. They lost 5-3.

One of those days.

I missed the game but will watch the condensed game on mlb.com tonight. How did he throw in the towel?

It's the Towelie, not the Towel. If he thought the Dbacks would rally with several more runs against one of the Nats' aces, he could have pulled Bratt after the 4 run 3rd inning.

Towelie? Don't know what you mean. Oh well, we did not come back and lost. It happens.

The Thursday make-up game against the Cards was supposed to be a day off…
So we’re in a 13 games in 13 days stretch, before a day off and another 13 game in 13 days stretch. The team was hoping to grab as many innings as Bratt could give them in order to save their arms for the Pirates.

It’s a miracle this team is where they are when you consider all of the big guns out due to injury, plus the sub-par seasons from Marte, Carroll and Perdomo. Not really sure how they gotten this far…

Welp...appears that the Dbacks will leave Washington fortunate to have won one game in the series. Torey's in-game pitching moves can only be described as "brilliant."
